Recruitment Overview • First NCA notification, Category Number 138/2026. • Eligibility restriction: only OBC community candidates may apply; female and differently abled candidates are not eligible under this notice. Vacancy Breakup • One OBC vacancy in the Kerala Police Band Unit. Educational Qualification • Pass in Higher Secondary/Plus Two or equivalent. • At least one year of post-qualification experience playing band, bugle, drum or allied instruments in a registered firm, institution or band troop. • Minimum height 168 cm; chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion; prescribed unaided eyesight and medical fitness. • Qualify in any 5 of 8 notified physical-efficiency events. Age Limit • 18–33; eligible birth dates: 2 January 1993 to 1 January 2008, both inclusive. • Ex-servicemen: upper age limit up to 45 years. • Specified Armed Forces/CAPF/NPA/mounted police riding experience: up to 5 years' upper-age relaxation. Selection Process • Physical measurement and physical efficiency test. • Practical proficiency test in the relevant instrument. • Written/OMR/online test if scheduled, followed by document and medical verification. • Nine-month pre-service training after selection.
